Greece and Italy both added three gold medals to their collection, while their athletes broke two Mediterranean records at the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games!
The first record was achieved by Georgia Peraki in the women’s 100m BF with a time of 48.83 and the second by the Italian mixed team in the 4x50m BF with 1:21.55.
In the 100m BF event, Egypt’s Login Abourlous was second with 49.07 and Viola Magoga finished third with 49.39.
In the 4x50m BF mixed, France was second with 1:21.55 and Croatia third with 1:23.81.
Giorgos Panagiotidis and Vasileia Tsigoia won their third gold medal of the event on the second day of finswimming.
In the 50m AP George Panagiotidis was first with 14.64. Turkey’s Omer Faruk Saydam was second with 14.65 and George Kaltsoukalas was third with 14.96.
The third gold won by Vasileia Tsigoia was in the women’s 100m SF. She won with a performance of 41.09, which is a games record. The second place was won by the Italian Georgia Destefani with 41.38 and the third place by the Croatian Dora Bassi with 41.65.
The women’s 400m SF was won by Italy’s Silvia Sevignani with a games record of 3:20.01. Athanasia Karatsivi was second with 3:22.23 and Turkey’s Adasu Ramazanoglu third with 3:24.53. Italy’s third gold medal was won by Patrick Martin in the 50m BF with 19.44. He was followed by his compatriot Riccardo Romano with 19.52, while Tunisia’s Youssef Neffati finished third with 19.91.
The 200m SF was won by Turkey’s Derin Toparlak with 1:24.64. Frenchman, Colas Zugmeyer finished second with 1:24.95 and Italian, Lorenzo Carono was third in 1:25.29.
In the men’s 200m BF, Croatia’s Ognjen Maric took first place with 1:36.68. The silver was won by France’s Sebastian Chedru with 1:36.93 and the bronze by Egypt’s Ahmed Radwan 1:38.06.
