The strong winds that were blowing on the Karteros Beach did not make it possible for the Rowing Beach Sprint events to take place on Tuesday 12 September. As a consequence, the final decision was made to cancel the races.
Initially, the program opened with the rows in the men’s single (C1x), but there were many problems due to the waves and, for the safety of the athletes, the Organizing Committee and the Racing Committee decided the definite cancellation of the races. A temporary postponement was even granted, but nothing changed as the strong winds continued.
Thus, according to the rules, the final rankings in all five events at the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games were decided by the latest results. In the men’s single with Tuesday’s quarter-final and the remaining four events from the trials held on Sunday September 10th.
It was Spain that dominated, winning all five gold medals in their respective events!

In the men’s single – the only event that took place – after the quarter-finals, the gold medal was won by Spain’s Miguel Salas Cordoba, with 3:07.76. The silver medal went to Italy’s Giovanni Ficarra, with 3:22.11 and France’s Vincent Noirot won the bronze medal with 3:29.83.
In the women’s individual medal was won by Spain’s Celia de Todos Los Santos de Miguel Gomez in 3:00.85, with France’s Elodie Ravera-Scaramozzino taking the gold in 3:06.97 and Tunisia’s Khandija Krimi in 3:12.43.
In the men’s double, the gold medal went to the Spanish duo of Ander Martin Domingo and Adrian Miramon Quiroga in 2:31.93, the silver went to France’s Ivan Bove and Ludovic Dubuis in 2:41.52 and the bronze to Croatia’s Nickol Udovicic and Nino Varat in 2:43.81.
In the women’s double, the gold medal was won by Spain’s Ainoha Casanova Calpena and Nadia Felipe Garcia, with 3:00.91. They were followed by Croatia’s Paola Girotto and Martina Kaic, with 3:06.02 and Italy’s Silvia Tripi and Viola Patrignani, with 3:09.28.
The gold medal in the mixed medley was won by the Spanish team (Martin Domingo, Miramon Quiroga, Purcarea Damian, Gonzalez Buzón, De Miguel Gomez and Felipe Garcia), with a time of 12.19.39. The silver medal went to Italy (D’ Amico, Zerilli, Cozzarini, Ficarra, Tripi and Patrignani) with 12.37.41 and the bronze to Croatia (Varat, Udovicic, Zuvanic, Puh and Kaic), with 12.43.29.
