The time of beach wrestling has arrived at the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games “Heraklion 23”.
Beach wrestling is one of the most impressive versions of wrestling. Its rules are simpler than in freestyle and Greco-Roman and it is easy to understand.
This is one of the reasons why it is rapidly expanding its fan base. The simple rules also help each match to progress quickly and the sport becomes quite impressive on the sand.
In Heraklion, there will be three women’s and four men’s weight categories on September 12 and 13 at Venue 1, starting at 10:00am
Greece has one of the strongest teams and is aiming to win many medals. Agoro Papavassiliou who was a freestyle wrestler will compete in the 70 kg event. She is one of the athletes who has been awarded for her impressive and winning lifts and has promised to show many of them at the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games.
One of the athletes who also stands out is Italy’s Francesca Indelicato or the “Queen of Sand” in the 60kg category.
