Triathle of Modern Pentathlon, which has been included for the first time in the competition schedule of the Mediterranean Beach Games, will open the curtain at “Heraklion 2023”.  

The event which involves cross country running, freestyle swimming and laser pistol shooting in multiple sequences, will be hosted this weekend in Ammoudara Beach, where the first winners of the 3rd Mediterranean Beach Games are going to be crowned.  

Women’s Triathle will be the opening act on Saturday (09/09), with a total of 14 participants representing six countries (EGY, ESP, FRA, ITA, POR, GRE), and afterwards Men’s Triathle will take the stage, with 16 athletes from eight countries (CYP, EGY, ESP, FRA, ITA, POR, GRE).  

All athletes will have to run five sequences of 600m running (3,000m total), four sequences of 50m swimming (200m total) and four sequences of laser pistol shooting (5 targets in each 50-second step, 20 targets total).  

Mixed Relay event will be the third and final one, on Sunday (10/09), including 14 mixed pairs representing six nations (EGY, ESP, FRA, ITA, POR, GRE).  

Each pair will face the challenge of three sequences of 600m running (1,800m total), two sequences of 50m swimming (100m total) and two sequences of laser pistol shooting (5 targets in each 50-second step, 10 targets total).
